If the purpose of the Voile Spartan is to “get your butt in the backcountry”, then the purpose of the Spartan Ascent is to keep your butt in the backcountry. There wouldn’t be such a thing as $100 lift tickets if this were an easy task, and even a few ounces of weight reduction in your equipment can make a huge difference in your level of enjoyment when you're making that approach on foot.
The Spartan Ascent shaves hundreds of grams underfoot when compared to the standard Spartan. While the Spartan Ascent retains its original shape and profile, we’ve applied the construction method of the Voile Revelator: paulownia wood core, custom carbon-fiberglass weave and a super-durable nylon top sheet.
You get the playful, switch-capable, high floating characteristics of the Spartan, but with a significant amount of weight trimmed off. Your legs will just be fresher and more willing for another run. So, go ahead—take another lap, you’ve earned it.During the 2016/17 season we released the Spartan Splitboard. It was designed as an economical option for boarders looking to get into the backcountry on a factory made splitboard, but without breaking the bank. The Spartan has grown in popularity over the last two seasons, largely due to its playful “directional twin” shape. For many, the only downside to the Spartan was its weight, though it’s not unreasonably heavy (especially considering the price point). All the same, there was room for improvement.
We are pleased to now offer the new Spartan Ascent. It’s the same shape and camber profile as the original Spartan, but with a construction recipe similar to the Revelator. The results speak for themselves: a playful splitboard that’s over a pound lighter than its predecessor. Additionally, we’ve added two womens sizes and a snazzy new graphic on its super-durable polyamide topsheet.
ATTENTION: Mounting quiver killers on your Voile Spartan Ascent Splitboard will void Voile factory warranty.
